        LOL its not hovering lol. But the point is if you practice and have a decent level of control it helps later on when your doing difficult stuff. Its all very well being able to belt around the sky but doing it with some precision and accuracy takes skill.

        So I'm trying to nail the basics and then move on

          id say if you were learning to drive you have mastered driving forward, clutch control is good, gear change good.

          need to work on manouvers, 3 point turn needs work !!

                Clearly But bottom line I have fun and enjoy myself, as I'm sure do you We all learn at different rates and in different ways, Mines different to yours is all Thing is it works for me so more of the same and develop skills and learn new ones
