  • Airborne @ Sumners Ponds Model Show - June 18 and 19 2016

The organisation of this years show is now well underway with some great improvements on 2015

New for 2016 the FPV Racing will be in a new field, providing more space and great areas for spectator viewing.

The main heli and plane flight-line will be pretty much as 2015.

New for 2016 we are including an area for control line flying.

We will once again be supporting the Kent Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance during the weekend

Camping this year will be around the new lake near the flight line and not down on the main show area, its still free for the Friday and Sat, if you want to remain on site Sun eve a small charge is payable.

Entry is once again free, entry details will be uploaded shortly

If you haven't attended before, why not come along and enjoy a great weekends flying

Entries are now approaching 60 pilots so we should be in for a great weekend of flying. Camping spaces on the main flight line are nearly all gone, once the last few are gone the only spaces available will be down by the lakes in the main field.

FPV entry is closed but there are still a few places left for Helis so get in quick

For those already entered, information on event and what to do when you arrive etc, will be sent out in early June

Just to clarify, are you saying that anyone that wants to fly must register now? I don't know yet where I am in June so If I'm in town I might look into coming along but cannot be sure just yet, most fun-flys you just turn up and typically only comps require prior registration to fly.

As Airborne is part of a larger model show (boats on the lakes, cars, trains, kites and loads of other stuff) and attracts over 2000 visitors, you need to be registered and we need various details for you to get on the site and for us to plan the weekend etc. We will do what we can to accommodate any late entries but no guarantees as we have a limit on the number of pilots we can accommodate.
