Having now watched alot of people doing iNverted it seams to me there are a couple of ways people are doing it either flip it over close to the ground which looks really spectacular.
It'd look spectacular if I did it that way!!!!

Well done on achieving something, shame about the second attempt, it might have been better to lie down in a dark room after an inverted auto. As you say you thought about it, doesn't work that, not enough time. Can't you fix the canopy? It's only glass fibre. You'll need it for your next inverted auto. It will look fine when it's a long way away. I'm starting to do inverted stuff now, and quite often it's very easy. Sometimes it's not, and that's the exciting bit. Every crash is an opportunity to upgrade. My new carbon frame should arrive soon. The metal ones bend after an arrival I've found.

              Hi Rachel

Well done for doing the first one :)

A few tip that may help in reducing the 50% failure rate ;)

Don't take too long to get it from inverted to the right way up.
Make sure you go as close to midstick during the actual flip or roll as possible.
Don't flip too low until you really know what you are doing.
If you flip a little higher you have another chance of a flare as you come in to land provided you still have a bit of forward speed.
Set a very high idle (nitro).
Keep everything very smooth.
Don't attempt inverted until you can land an upright auto from any direction and 100% of the time
Don't rush learning them (it's expensive - I KNOW!).
Cool tips Richie thx - i did some inverted autos a while ago just rolling out and lee watched my stick movements on pitch as it transitioned from inverted to upright from memory he said i went from positive to negative in one full move as the heli rolled through in sync with the roll i didnt find much headspeed loss so it seemed to work well so i did it a couple of times. Though i must confess the elevator pushup from inverted i havent tried so maybe on my next flight we'll give a go. :-)
                Cheers

I've always flared up right so far say after rolling or flipping out from inverted. So the trick to flip/roll out low down is to flare more inverted... I can't wait to do a low flip inverted auto going to have to try it I think :).

Is a good way of learning them to just keep doing the flip lower, or is it a very different technique for the low ones?

There are so many variables I would say it's best to take your time and and do loads of them, you will gain confidence and as you do start lowering the flip or roll. I've done entire flights of just autos, one after another bringing them down lower each time.

...and remember - they do go wrong for everyone ..... unless you are Bob Johnson :)

Good point, I do try and go to upright lower but it just goes wrong every time I do so on my 450 lol. Think low inverted autos are very hard on the 450, guess I should use the 600 for that! :o Thanks - I'll just keep trying to get them lower lol. I just hope the blades survive and I just do a link or something.

Bigger is better :) inverted autos with a 450 are possible but maybe not advisable lmfao :D
