  • Park Hall , Dave 2 and a trophy ,lol

Wow what a weekend , top friends & top fun, oh have you worked out it was HOT and very calm, in fact the saturday was baking, tan on, lol.

This is my first Park Hall and it is definatly a fixture that should be right at the top of your list, set in the beautifull derbyshire countryside, park hall is a wonderfull club with top members who are kind enough to give up their superb site and time to put on a huge event. Thanks & top marks guy's and girls we all loved it, there was am apology from the club about the length of the grass but it was huge fun to play with and definatly saved a few helis including rexy who in true Raquel Belott style caught his fin in the grass when flying too low backwards and was dragged down in to its depths.
So out came the Table and Dave "2 spirit of the forums" and some manic finishing , clutch out and gov magnet reinstalled the right way up ,:svengo:a hasty total g masterclass set up, I have moved the belcrank balls inwards on dave 2 and this gives better servo resolution and a real nice feel.

A quick test flight on Sunday morning thanks Paul Leason :) for allowing Shane and I too test fly and we were off , my sets were fab a real improvment but I felt my freestyle wasted a lot of time and I could have done so much better but its very hard you only get 2 mins 30 seconds and it's just over in a second , Shane was calling for me and we sort of had a plan but I tried but a new untested model , although flying wonderfully , Dave not me, it sort of was just too much so the dream of second place will have to wait.

This is probably getting a bit long so if your still reading :) my thanks and eternal gratitude must go to those who made the fairytale happed, to whomever gave the huge donation of Dave 2, Mark Cristy who gave me his own radix blades, Roger price who repaired the Mp6 pipe for me and all who offered help, there just arn't words to express my thanks.

A fairytale ending ???? you bet I got a trophy 3rd place (and also last lol) Dave 2 and I will go on practicing and learning but more importantly this isn't about me its about what can be done with the help of others.

Hugs everyone and happy flying, Park Hall you rocked !!!!!.

Scores are on the club website. And looking at them I would say you had a much better day on Sunday with Dave 2.

          cheers

Basically the 'score' for each round is a culmanation of the 3 judges direct judging of your flight in each round. So this is indepenant of your fellow competitors and the best score for you to judge improvement (or not) over the weekend.

The 'Norm' scores takes your 'Score' and normalises it relative to the highest placed score in a given round. The winner of a given round gets 1000 points and then everyone else's normalised score is relative to that top placed pilot.

In this case both your 'score' and 'norm' score improved on sunday, so you must have flown better on sunday!

The main reason for normalising is so that the Sets & Freestyle round have an equal weighting in the final result. In this case the highest score possible would be 2000 normalised points (1000 for sets and 1000 for freestyle, a 50/50 split).

                Hope this makes sense!

                Paul
