Bell230 scale rebuild pt2 - Digi Cockpit

I've already made an illuminated instrument panel, which was nice...

UNTIL... I saw someone had fitted a mini photo frame to theirs.. !!
Not ot be outdone, I bought two 1.1" examples and opened PaintShop...

I started with a Radar, as thats what i'd seen in the other guys..

The frame will 'slideshow' down to 1sec intervals, which aint pixar animation, but its a start...


I tried 12 steps, but it was too jumpy, so redid it in 24, which gives the radar sweep a reasonable amount of fluidity..

All the dots are animated, one comes close and flashes red at the inner ring. The TCAS number/distance runs down then up to coincide with the near miss.


Then I did an attitude Indicator, again with 24 steps of animation..

A moving map, taken from a real aviation map of Scunthorpe.. It was the best I could find, no other reason for Scunthorpe

Multi display - The 3 already mentioned, plus 4 moving gauges and an animated warning light panel.
This is close to the final displays, which will be mounted each side of the cockpit, with mirrored intruments..

A small round board, remote switches and a 250Ma 1s Lipo, which is always useful

It's a 1.1" screen. You can get 1.5" too, but that'd be too big for my 30 size heli.. Only problem is that you cant change the transitional effects, and it does all of them in-turn. So sweep up, dots, diagonal sweep, etc... I can read the .ini file on the device, which has the transitional options all turned ON (=1) but its hardcoded into the firmware, so you can't change it. But atleast it slideshows down to 1 sec, which is acceptable..

I'll see if I can get a Youtube vid up, but i'm without broadband at the mo, and i'm using my phone as a hoptspot for the pc, so I have limited bandwidth..

Anyway, i'll keep you posted as I progress...
