The original fuse, whilst completely Fibre Glass, has a wooden H-Stab, covered in THICK sticky back film.. As I bought it secondhand, I had what I had, and I had a very well epoxyed wooden fin.. So.. If I'm gonna spray it up, the film covering is no good, so I pulled it off, along with a few pits of balsa, as its VERY sticky.. Doh..! But as you'll find out, I had to fill the balsa anyway, so it wasn't a problem..
It also didnt have any V-Stabs on the H-Stab, so I made some out of 1mm ply and balsa

Hole for an LED carefully placed, as not to come out above or below the horizontal fin

I found just enuf small enamel wire to span the H-Stabs, but it still needed to be flushed into the wood.
I started by drilling from the end to as far as the drill bit would go, at an angle, so it broke the surface, then 'dug' a channel out for the rest of the way, before it goes thru the fuse..

I had to feed single strands of 'roadrunner' enamel wire from the Stab, thru into the front of the fuse, then solder them to the L+R wires, before pulling it all back thru..
Note the missing chunk on the left lower side.. One of 3 bits that the sticky film pulled off...

The single strand was removed, and the rest threaded thru to the end of the Stab

The first layer of modelling filler, drying..

I've since put another couple of swipes of filler over them, and painted-Sanded the Horz and Verts 3 times to get a smooth surface, ready for spraying
