  • Have I invented a new 3D move ?????

Ok here is a description of the move :)

Fly your heli along the flightline very fast , straight and level.

At your chosen start point rotate it through 90 degrees ,not climbing or descending, so it's pointing straight up (or down if your brave :ack2:) apply full negative pitch (min 11 degrees) which will continue along a flight path parallel to the ground.

Hit the tail pitch to rotate the heli around the center , do one or two piros then finish at the same angle as you started at .

is this a new move ????? if so lets call it the windmill.

You mean like a Cartwheel down the flightline? Windmill sounds better though :-)

Cartwheel implies side on, from what I understand its more like a stall turn without gaining height or turning around.

Still can't do it on the simm !!!

no not a cartwheel the heli is vertical whilst moving along the virtical axis (mainshaft) it piros a bit freeky but quite fun .

.d'ya men pull up as if for the tick of a ticktock..keep it just over the 90 and with full negative can carry on that line while piro-ing?

Works OK on the sim except that I never bale out right unless i stop the piro first

I can see it. Laurence done it without the piro in his last vid, only he done side on tail down tic tocs then the neg with tail down then more tic tocs, one of my favourite bits. I must say it would be brilliant with a piro in between.

yes sort of flip whilst still moving forward , thats why full negative pitch to keep it moving, then piro 360 degrees and forward flip out.
the whole move is done whilst moving forward sort of a 360 degree moving stall turn .
                          without climbing.
will video it next time out .

Is it not the same sort of thing you see on countless videos of people flying. Heli coming towards themselves inverted push up with negative pitch piro out down the field. Just along the flightline instead. Or not?
