  • Rave or Rex Help me make a decision please

    OK here goes :)

It's one from confused . com

I am really bitten by the heli bug :ack2: as most of you can guess ,

    Anyway I reacently found I love 90 size heli's :),
and I also want to get better with my flying / compete may be in the grass roots next year.

    anyway my choices

I have a rex 700 LE "pink edition" :smilielol5:which I love to fly its just fab,
but I have allways liked the Rave 90 ENV & having chatted to Roger (climb out) & seen one I liked what i saw.

I haven't flown the Rave but love the fab customer service from both next D & Climb out, but I don't want to be waiting for ever and then developing the model.

or I save £200 right now and get a second Rex 700 ?????? & have spares compatibility plus an abundance of bits if needed :ack2:

Help what do i do :):confused::confused:.

Oh I will be selling my Vibe 50 to fund this anyone interested ? 1 lady owner, never thrashed etc etc ,........

I was looking at the "alternative" helis last night and like you, I like the 90 size of heli, mainly because I can see it :P but it also feels really satisfying to fly something that size.

I suppose it depends if you want to be sensible or not- the sensible money is on a 2nd 700- you have spares compatibility and also a very similar model to carry on flying if you have some damage- you can just swap between the two.

The fun money would be on the Rave- I think they look really nice and are also different- there is all this talk of getting the same helis as everyone else at a club so you can get advice and borrow parts, but I feel you have to get a heli you can bond with and being a bit different is cool imo- I like my 700 a lot, but would love something different just for the fun factor. How about an Outrage 90?????? Or an N5 ( not a 90 i know)

Life is tough making choices like this :D
Synergy N5C with 3GX on the bench
Trex 500 ESP FBL BeastX -soooooooooo fast
Trex 700 LE Beast X'd and no sticky out bits
Velocity 90 BeastX FBL-the love affair has begun!

Rave i think ! Ive had a Trex 700le which was great but i must admit afterwatching the demo last weekend of the Rave I might just invest in one to add to my collection !

ps: how much do you want for the Rave 450 without the giro please ?

To throw another one in the mix, the Aurorra.

Midlands have done a very good job on marketing it, and its probably top of my list, even above the Velocity 90 :svengo:

the choice of 90s is truly stunning now. Avant spares are cheap now. Im told that rave env spares are similar to trex prices too. Then of course there is the new outrage and ely-q 90 coming soon too.

they all look pretty damn good to me.

I would go for a Rave as it is what you have always wanted and will be a different experience, having a second 700 would mean it only gets flown if the other is crashed and that seems a waste IMO

The thing about the Trex 700 is because of the easy availability and low cost of spares you don't really 'need' more than one.

But having more than one heli of a similar size, for example two 90s, is good because as long as they are kept well maintained then you have something flyable at any moment (unless of course you put both of them in on the same day:eek:)
