Great to hear he is on the mend.
We lost our St bernard last year to Cancer, She was a lovable ball of fluff who insisted she was part of the family, taking over the sofa as much as she could or shoving us out the way when we were on it. It was hard to get anoyed with her as those big droopy eyes would just flash back at you and you gave in every time.
I would give anything to have her back as would the rest of the family, but I dont think we will ever have another St Bernard its just too heart breaking.
I have to agree that loosing the dog made me more aware of my family, old and young and thank each day we are all on this planet.
