Need to rant about Royal mail..

Ok, So i know what im going to be told.... but you can only go on past experience. Saw a classified ad on here, And contacted seller, agreed a price inc delivery etc, And agreed to send cash as no bank acc/paypal . Have no reason not to trust the seller, He has been great (And Def not him the rant is about!).
Sent it recorded delivery. (I can hear the groans:puke:)

Now the thing is, As i said earlier, can only go on past experience, But i have checked and have sent / received 200 + recorded deliveries in the past 14 months, And send cash via NORMAL post to my daughter evey month and have NEVER had a problem. So why oh why out of all the crap i have ever sent /recived Is it that the one thing I was really excited about goes crap:ack2:. I know its only been 4 days.... But you get that sinking feeling. Then you start to look at royal mails website and find that recorded delivery is a waste of time. They are getting a fortune for, well nothing thats of any use. Why the hell do you have to pay through the nose so they will only then guarantee that your letter MAY get there. Err isnt the post office supposed to erm deliver letters ???....

Sorry rant over .... But how many others on here regularly send largish sums of cash via the post ( To someone that they trust.... This is about how much you trust royal mail.
I know this topic comes up time to time...... But it kinda gets to you when someone dosnt do thier job, and there is stuff all you can do about it.:rant:

Still, tis early days yet and there's been a bank holiday in between the last four days. There's still time for it to get there yet.

I realize the bank holiday side of things, But this was posted wed 9am last week. Will be for me the first time that recorded or firstclass has ever taken more than 2 days. Usually am quite patient about these things, Esp when ordering stuff from online shops etc, Usually good but no one is perfect.

Having said that...... Came back from holiday a few weeks ago to find someone had tried to break in.... They didnt get far heheh deadlocks ,,, love em... however the postie had bunged a large item through the hole in the glass..... When questioned he said " I thought you locked your self out"........ The brick and galss everywhere for 2 days didnt mean anything then..... And i know the guy!!!!!!!!

sending cash via royal mail or any courier service is madness if you ask me plus you will never get any comeback on it as your not ment to send it they dont want to move it
i have my own courier business and would not ever send cash
onto royal muck up i sent a gp750 last saturday first class to a member on here and he got that on the following saturday pretty good that !:svengo:

I sent the parcel next day and heres where it ended up going.

by recorded delivery you mean special delivery right? i.e. next day anywhere in the uk for a fiver. I think this is a good product. Last few times I have tried to use recorded delivery they have looked at me as if it is the 1940s or something as its all archaic paperwork etc for that!

I post everything first class recorded and thats quite a fair amount :D

Cash in the post is silly, use a chq or postal order at least!!! Or next day if it covers cash!

I ordered some US dollars online a couple of weeks ago and received $771 by Royal Mail, Special Delivery so I'd expect this is reasonably secure :)
