When I was younger I promsed my mum I would never get a bike, my cousin got killed in a similar way, I'm 32 now and I still don't have a bike and the wife keeps reminding me of that promise :(

Lost count of the accidents ive had. All bar one was a women driver, and all bar one were uninsured! (approx 12 over 13years) I still have injurys from when I was 16. Hit by a car while I was stationary. shot through the air and landed in a side road ditch! brake leavers went through both knees, ripped all the mussles that support base of spine, and smashed my teeth.
Im still on painkillers for the pain and have perminent wiplash and I couldnt walk proper for at least 6m after.
However Im still riding bikes. Gave up for a while after my last accident n 2004 as promised the wife I would, but after 2years I had to get another bike! That got stolen last year. Not got one at the mo but am desprite to get another!

Splash-o-Tcut and all will be fine.
I know probably in the future I may start riding something really is puling me intowards it but even in the car im very responsible for a number of reasons and will be on a bike.
I'm lucky, my ol man was a biker and I had my first when I was 7.
Have not had one for about 4 yrs or so though :(
If bikes is inside yer then theres no stopping yer unfortunatly :D
2 ex work collegues had an accident nearly 1 yr apart at the same place leaving work. 1 went over a car for about 50 ft and the london air ambulance was called, luckily out that night with a broken wrist.
The other went under a loaded 44ton lorry which run over him with its trailer. Broke nearly every bone in his body, ribs, back, pelvis, shins, arms, legs, ankles, feet, fingers and neck etc etc. Air ambulance again and again I was there to witness the aftermath :( will never walk properly again but is very VERY lucky to be alive.
And the last I knew, about a yr after the crash he did want a bike again, it gets you by the balls too and dont let go just like this hobby :D
The most important rule is to treat EVERY other road user as an idiot who hasnt seen you, this will lessen the chance of an accident of this nature, as for riding too fast etc, well that one is down to the rider, I am sure we have all done it and in the main got away with it, but every now and again :( you know the rest

That's why I stick to four wheels, I honestly don't think I'd last a week on two wheels. Even still I had a guy on a bike totally lock up behind me the other day and nearly wound up poking his head through my spoiler (I hasten to add that I had already stopped several moments earlier at a set of red-lights) I feel even more strongly about it since we lost a colleague who was a keen biker after a tractor pulled out in front of him.
That's a pretty ghoulish exhibit when you think about it.
If those are the genuine vehicles involved in the fatal crash then they would have had to remove the bike to recover the three bodies, give the vehicles a good hose down to remove any biohazard residue, then put the bike back inside in the crash position.
Would've been easier and safer to use some crash-test wreckage.

Always prommised my mum i'd not have a bike on the road too and to be fair.... I was wise to stick to that until i grew up (ish) and now at 34 years old. If i had one in my 20's i'd not be here now to write this post IMO:svengo:
I'd love a Ducati or Fireblade but even now i don't trust my throttle hand enough to enjoy it and so i bought a 2010 wide glide:)
Awesome machine and lifts every hair everytime i ride it and although not to everyones taste... its very special:)
Theres nothing like the freedom of two wheels out there but its a risk and theres little chance of a second chance if it goes badly wrong.
I am a new rider and feel old and bold enough now to realise i'm very vulnerable out there both with my new learned skills and other road users adding to the mix:cheers2:
Once I had a go in a Supra.
My mate bough this wife one and we took it for a spin.
It was the TransAm looking one is that a MkIV?
You had to lie down in it more than sit in it.
3litre Turbo, didn't matter it was an automatic, it FLEW! :)
