I've got a NAIM / ROKSAN turntable & CD set up. Solid state and really very good high end stuff. But when I play it through my BEARD valve power amp it really sounds sweeeeet.
I'm lucky enough to have a whole room set aside for Hi Fi and in winter months there's nothing better than taking in a few drinks & getting down to some serious LPs (they are the old fashioned round black things for you younger ones out there). MUCH better sound quality that any CD.
Once heard a system of turntable / pre-amp / power amp / speakers valued at £150,000 (japanese silver wound ONGAKU amps) - totally mindblowing clarity.
