  • HIGHLY FRUSTRATED with BMFA classifieds

There is an item I urgently wish to purchase which is in the BMFA classifieds. So I registered but couldn't log in until I received confirmation from the administrator. That was yesterday. So I went for a temporary password and received that but still could not log in. I sent an email to the administrator asking them kindly in the meantime to let the vendor know I want to buy their item. I got in touch with BMFA by phone but all they said was that classifieds can only be contacted by email (can you believe that?). So today I still have not received confirmation and am highly frustrated at the whole situation. Normally when you register you get some sort of confirmawtion almost by return and now over 24 hours on there has been no useful response and it seems that this section of BMFA is steam driven.

Is there anyone who can help with this situation or who is registered with BMFA classifieds and would be willing to send a message to the vendor for me please.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This may be a daft question, but you're sure your junk filter isn't deleting it maybe?

I had the same with the bmfa classifieds and when I spoke to the bmfa they told me ,site was not run by them and to contact the administator ,who was only part time.
Needless to say I tried to get info on seller from elsewhere and contacted direct
BMFA doen't stand for anything to do with modelling association its :- "Bloody Mind Fart's Accademy".
I would have put the other name for them but don't want to upset Stuart(lol)

How bizarre, I registered with the BMFA Classifieds about 6 weeks ago and after approx 6 emails (1 a week) to them I still have heard nothing..

Still waiting for the solitary email to activate my account but just as you have waited I am still waiting.

To make matters worse they glady took my £28 membership money but trying to get on the classifieds is nothing more than a joke..

And whats worse is not answering my emails. Slightly disgusted with them TBH.

So if anyone would pass on this message from me I would appreciatte it.

The classilfied ads man (or woman) may well have cost me a nice DX7 without servos at a reasonable price which is just what I was looking for.

Personally I wouldn't touch the BMFA classified site with a barge pole, heard too many stories of rip-off merchants using it for attracting victims, and other stories of this being reported to the BMFA who take absolutly no action to protect their innocent members.

If the classified site is run by someone else, that would go a looooong way to explaining this sorry state of affairs, and gives me a further reason to avoid it.

                        Hi
                        This is weird.
Just bought something off BMFA classifieds. Saw the item, e-mailed the seller, paid by PayPal, and I had the item in two days.
Didn't have to register or anything. Easiest transaction ever.
Easier than trying to access this site. At least I didn't have to clock up 50 posts before I could even talk to someone wanting something.
Am I doing something wrong, or right?

Jeff, I guess from your post you've come across the RCHA trading rules before, or perhaps you're the first person to have taken five minutes to read the rules on the site.

You're not doing anything wrong at all, you chose to spend money with someone who had gone through an accreditation matching up details held on the BMFA database with those that were submitted at the time of registration to the BMFA Classifieds website.

RCHA doesn't have the luxury of an extensive database to check peoples identities and as such imposes a simple rule on it's members before partaking in any sort of trading on the site. This is as a direct result of the concerted efforts of a few less reputable former members to defraud and steal from people.

This site is a forum with a classifieds section for its contributing members to use, not a dedicated trading site. There's a big distinction there.

                            Oh, welcome to the forum
