  • 9.6V battery question Nimh or Nicd?

Iv bought a new battery for my transmitter

at the picture you can see the old battery (right side/red) it is Nicd

the new battery (on the left) seems to be Nimh

is this correct? or is this a failure on the label?
if i try to charge or discharge it at Nimh i receive an error at the charger

Is there no Nimh option on the charger? It's a shame they phased out Nicads, not a fan of Nimh.
      Cheers,

The error won't be because it's a nimh rather than a nicd. The difference is the drop in volts as the battery gets full. On Nicds the drop is about twice that of NiMhs. On most chargers you can choose the amount of drop. That's the deltaV setting. You can charge that battery at 200mah for 10 to 15 hours if it is flat. If you are not sure then charge it for 30 hours at 100mah. If you use a NiCd setting it will get warm but not do any real harm. Many NiMh chargers have no deltaV setting. If you have a temperature probe you can charge until you get a small increase in temperature of about 5 decC, or just charge until the volts stop rising. Or even better, buy an icharger.
