heli club site near Southampton

Hi There

Im looking for a heli club site near Southampton, I've heard of one called collective pitch but can't find anything on the net about them.
I think they fly near Marwell Zoo.

Does anyone know of any sites near Southampton or Eastleigh way, I fly at beaulieu airfield but looking for another site maybe a dedicated heli one.
Ive tried to contact Winchester model club, but no one has replied to my emails.

Any help links would be of great help

We fly electric only at a nice site in chilworth so bang on for location

Hi Mark, just a quick +1 on Don's reply.
Not sure how long you have been flying, but we have a great field and a brilliant atmosphere, we also get the like of Trex pedro, James Mackenzie and matte lodge flying with us, which is inspiring, also you can go for your A & B tests if you want and get really useful advice and tips. I've only been flying since Dec 2012 and it's mostly due tot he guys that I am where I am.
As Don said contact the link and come on down. You will need proof of insurance to fly (RCHA or BMFA).

Hi Mark,

discoferret and I started South Hants Helis, just out of Southampton (5 mins from the M27), along with the help and support of several club members on here.

I used to fly at beaulieu, and im also a member of the Winchester club for flying fixed wing.

There is currently a 2 year (ish) wait for Winchester as far as I know, Positive pitch is the club you talk of in Marwell, but the guy who runs it is impossible to get hold of (I tried joining for over a year).

Firebirds are in Botley, but dont allow anything bigger than a 450, unless its A test practice (hovering)


We allow any size, so long as its electric... You are most welcome to come down and see the field and the members one weekend.

Bit of a stretch from Southampton but if you have some Nitros that you want to 'burn and turn' then Dorset Model Helicopter club DMHC down in Poole might be able to help too. Although I am sure you will get on fine at South hants.

DMCH looks like a cracking club, went to your open day last year and really enjoyed it... Its just out of reach from Southampton though, looking at a 3 hour round trip in summer time

www.helipadmc.org.uk - This is where I fly - it's just off J11 of the M27 (Fareham area). Nitro/Electric, Heli club only. Mostly sports and scale flying though, no 3D.

For now I fly a 60 nitro Raptor,
just got back flying again after and I've quickly learnt that not only are everyone are now flying electric, but most clubs only take electric helis... looks like I'll be getting a new heli then
