  • Remote Glow Leads

I'm fed up with the Ripmax ones that always break at the plug end.

    Is there a better alternative?

I need the ones that have a glowplug style connector, not the one that has a phono jack connector.

    Thanks

Try putting the glowplug style connector upside down in a vice and loosely wrap some insulation tape around the back of the connector where the pin comes out to make a little bucket. Mix up some epoxy and pour it into the bucket and let it set.
The "potted" connector / wire lasts for ages.
    Cheers, Lee.

I used croc clips on remote glows, now I use an Align 2 in 1 it has a croc clip anyway

As Phil, I now use the Align unit, I was sceptical at first, but it hasnt given me any problems yet.

Nice idea, but have never had that end fail on me.

It's always the glow plug end that falls apart (the red wire on Ripmax and Century versions). The wire comes away from the shrouded plug cap and my soldering skills are so poor that I'd rather just have a better quality unit in the first place.

I notice now that Midlands have a JP glow remote lead on their website for about £3ish which is just the bit that always breaks without the rest of the pack.

Might have to invest in a bulk purchase!
