LOL. Not sure how it could have bent though. The top main bearing has play in it but the model is brand new and has only had 4 mild flights. Unless the top bearing was ******* enough to throw the main shaft off centre?

Cant tell from that vid H, get down at eye level wirh the glass and roll it slowly and look to see if the shaft lifts at the ends as you roll it.

Have you tried rolling it on a flat piece of glass? Or if you've got one of those engineers metal rulers with a straight edge, test it up to that.

I find it hard to tell on a video, especially if its very slight.

best way to check is to look at it from the level you are rolling it on and see if it lifts and lets light underneath it

It maybe just burrs around the Jesus bolt holes but it sounds a bit clattery to me. The acid test is to put it in a slow rotating chuck. Any run out is amplified x 2.

The glass on my cooker is about as flat a piece of glass I have

I've held it up on a sheet of glass and I can see a hair of light when holding it up to the light but it's the same from end to end so it's probably just refraction. However, when I roll it back and forth I can feel the vibration in the glass matching the sound. I don't know if this just caused by the holes for the jesus bolts?

The glass on your cooker is tempered which changes its properties. You really want normal float glass mate

Cool, I'm using a glass place matt which is as flat as anything I've got in the house. For £7, I'm just going to replace the fecker regardless. The bearings are £4 for two, so I'll replace both and take it from there.

Why would you think it's bent in the first place Harry, for the tuppence happeny to replace it if you're questioning it put a new one in

Louis gives it straight,,and Ive no doubt the reverse is true also!!,,what is "camp" anyway?,,in fact,why is camp?..I bet "Gooey" Louis" has a few methods to check if your shafts bent!!,,seriously though,if I had doubts regarding the shaft,I would give it to a mate,tell him its new,and see how he gets on with it

I can tell you from watching that video that your cooker is not level
Look for the light under the shaft. You can normally see the bend in the reflection on the glass.

Well I ordered a replacement shaft and bearings over the weekend so should be fitting them tomorrow hopefully
