not too bad, It was my Trex 450 SE V2, trashed the blades (stock carbon ones) and bent the flybar, and a main gear also ordered new main shafts and feathering spindles just in case but they seem ok so it's about 40/50 quids worth of crash. (I ran out of forward airspeed in a turn after using my 'fixed wing' thumbs and pulling the nose around rather then adding more power and slightly lowering the nose, it went in on it's side with the throttle closed so not too bad all told)

Still a darn site more expensive than my little Skylift..... Sorry to hear it.

        Hi all,
Well I am the proud owner of a brand new skylift, thanks to the boys at SMC(Worthing).
They attempted to replace the old 3in1 but found it had also burnt out the receiver circuit board, so, as good as their word they gave me a new one.
Can't fly it yet though as they forgot to give me the old upper swashplate links, so still grounded.
        Can't praise them highly enough.
Whilst stood in the shop a kid came in with his mum, he had been given a rubber band plane that had broken. Despite not having a receipt & unsure if it was even purchased from their shop they gave him a brand new plane(boxed) and a fistful of rubber bands, having fixed the original.
The boy left the shop with the biggest smile I have ever seen!
Big up to the boys at SMC.

        Matt:-)

The sad thing is I bet they don't get any extra sales from it, so it really is just out of the goodness of their hearts. Although I expect somebody remembered selling her the plane....

Whatever good on them, I use them a lot, and after hearing that they will get a lot more from me....

                They will,

                me....

I'm off to get a sky lift soon as I can afford one - they look sooooo cool.

Have just got some bits for my trex450xl from them and marcel was a good knowledgable guy, very helpful.

I will use them for my stuff when I can, they don't stock too many raptor spares, so I normally get those from midland helicopters, but SMC are excellent IMHO

                so the real question is...
.. are those skylifts as goooood as they look?

                Mikey

They're beautiful mate, just not as easy to fly as JPerkins would have you believe out of the box. But they do look fantastic when you do have them flying, especially with the lights on. I love mine to bits and can't wait to get her trimmed out right and flying again.

                    Ditto,
The skylift is just as much fun as it looks.
I've just heard back from JPerkins about the problem I had with my skylift and they were unaware of a problem but are going to investigate further.
They feel that the one I had must have had a faulty 3in1 for it to burn out like it did, they explained that is why they built MOPS into the circuit board.
I found mine just as easy to fly as my lama and my sons co-comanche which, at the age of ten he can now hover in one place no problem, and he's only had it a week.
My advice, get a skylift as soon as you can, you won't look back!

                    Matt

Managed to trash mine at lunchtime, was out flying around the carpark at work doing faster and faster circuits and then on a fast right turn nose down at about 25 foot high the blades folded, hit each other bits of black plastic flew everywhere and it plummeted to earth.
Trashed the body, 2 broken wheels and 4 blades and one of the mounts for the motors broken.
But popped to the model shop and got all the bits and have just flown it round the living room all back in one piece. They are very easy to fix at least.
Warning to anyone though, don't take fast tight turns, the blades eventually buckle under the pressure.
                      James

I managed to blow a 3-in-1 up, but that was my own fault and I paid for a replacement (I accidentally flashed a couple of pins whilst trying to get it to work on 2.4 GHz!).

However, I have had one of the motors go down! It wasn't obvious what had happened at first - it developed a very strong nose-down trim that required a substantial amount of rear stick to compensate. Then it got worse, and even full rear stick wasn't enough!

When I checked the blade rotation, one blade felt like it had a one way bearing in it - I could rotate it forward, but not backwards! I replaced the motor on that blade, and normal service was resumed. Looks like the brushes broke up in the motor!

Yep same problem burnt out and smells of it, i think the batteries that come with it are the cause as they get so hot.
I've spoken to Skyline Models just got to call in to get it sorted.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

hey earlier today i was flying my twister skylift and the front kept on ducking and then when the blue light was on it was really low but it done a nose dive into the ground (but no serious damage) and now the top front rotors have jammed and they dont turn in any direction as the others do and when we switched it on the other's moved the the front top ones did not!.
if you no what has happened and how we can fix it plz let me know
