Blade 550x canopy

So whilst I've been very happy with my 550x, one thing that bugged me was the canopy. Out of the box, the front ventilation hole wasn't cut straight. For a canopy of this price, I wasn't satisfied, so contacted HH about it. They were (as ever) very good and sent out a replacement which arrived today.

Interestingly, it's evidently a version 2 canopy ! . They kept that quiet!

Photos to follow, but changes are

1. MUCH thicker/ stronger fibreglass. So much better than the original.
2. Ventilation hole at the front much bigger, I assume to improve airflow over the ESC.
3. Different shape to make it easier to put on and take off
4. Smoother edges, better quality finish.

All in all, much better. Also, the loose fit of the V1 seems be be fixed too.

Worth £70 though? 90 size canopies are cheaper.

No, £70 is too high. Obviously I didn't pay £70 however as it came with the combo that I got for a good price (as per my 550X review). But as a spare, the list price tag is definitely too high as you say. It looks like they will be available cheaper than that, but still, they are expensive.

Must say, I'd be much happier paying the price for this canopy though, compared to the one that came in my kit.

I should imagine fusuno will be doing them soon enough, they always come in cheaper too when you go direct.
