  • Effectivness of fins mounted on tail Boom

    Hi guys

What is the point of having the stabiliser fins on the rear tail boom if they have been cut out soo much that they are just a thin outline.

I can understand that the very rear fin has a double purpose of keeping the tail blades from hitting the ground and i can understand how a solid fin could help in fast forward flight.

But why dont the 3D boys jut remove the horizontal fin altogether as they would also save weight.

Cant work out how the thin outline horizontal fin helps anything?

    Cheers

    Ben

    Tiny Hoizontal Fins

There is no point in it at all - My latest model the Spectra G has the smallest horizontal fin of all, it's rubbish. It's about 3" x 1" with lightning holes cut in it.
