    feelling a pleased with my self, finally after quite a few failed and ugly attempts of soldering the deans i have now cracked the method sorted the skill of using the soldering iron too.

        Here is a tip to help you if you are struggling.
        Tin the soldering iron before you start to solder. This helps transfer the heat from the iron to object you trying to solder.
        Then tin the connector and then the wire. Remember to re tin the soldering iron every time. Only a small blob is needed.
        Now you are ready to solder the wire to the connector. Place the tip of the soldering , blob first on to the connector.
        The tinned connector should "wet" pretty quickly then place the wire on the connector. The tinned wire should then "wet" as the connector did.
        Remove the soldering iron and hold the joint still until the solder solidifies.

        Then end result should be a nice shiney smooth joint between the wire and the connector. Also the excess solder should have wicked up the wire in this process.
