690 v 710

So as I was lucky enough to win a set of Spin 710's in the raffle at Eagle I was wondering how much difference I can expect to the 690's that I already have on the G4 ??

Any advantages for either of the sizes ?

Ive had testing with many pilots on both with my Volts and the 690,s give you quicker cyclic and the 710 give you more stability the 710,s give a smoother bigger presence in the air and nicer blade noise depends on your flying style,if ya stuntmunky stickbanger you will prefere the 690,s if you like fast stable tracking with really big moves you will love the 710,s but they are quite close in size but you will notice the difference

I find weight more noticeable than lenth in flight characteristics....I only do big air though really not 3D....

FWIW i couldnt get away with the 710s Neil. I wouldnt say my collective managements crap but fitting 710s will definately make your management better either way. You will feel the difference definately mate, 710 just dont crack as good but they much more stable as Haydn has already said. I found them kinda like adding a tiny amount of expo to your pitch if that makes sense.

Defo weight comes in to play also, not just length.

For example Im now running 700's but they have had weights added so they are more stable than the 710's I was running but generally the longer blade will be more stable and less suited to a someone who wants an instant response, poppy type blade.

710's the heli will feel lighter and auto better.

690's the heli will be more nimble and load up less, and as for the G4 still feels very light.

It depends on the heli and the blades..

Don't forget the Raptor has a wider hub than most helis, so it makes 690's more like 700's anyway.

For me flying 3D on my G4, 690's no question at all.
