Can't really see the long term advantage once you have the heli all wired up.
That's exactly the advantage... so you don't have to unwire it all up.

Bit of hotglue for those anxious over-protective types and away you go. Personally i think its brilliant and once the cost comes down i shall never look back.

The end of taking everything apart to change a servo gear. Eureka!

Also they're JR - so no doubt will be way overpriced...

Spectrum and Futaba have jumped on this bandwagon. Both of these manufacturers now have at least one servo with detachable leads in their range. I think it's a great idea.

+1 what a great idea, I know it may not come round soon and no doubt be costly, but I think it's something to look forward too.

I've brought a set of these JR servos and Im really impressed to say the least. I built the model and installed all the servos into the frames first which made the job a lot easier not having wires trailing etc. It also then allowed me to choose the wire length as there are 3 different lengths , you can place these wires individually making a nice neat job. Once plugged in they are super quiet and super smooth ! I also added the tail servo to complete the set and have been more than happy with the performance.

Nice idea to be able to choose the wiring length for a tidy installation, and also good that the wires could detach in a crash rather than being torn out and ruining the servo (this has happened to me in the past). Only thing is that these new servo's are JR so that means they wont be cheap.

Neat Idea, now all they need to do is have a port on each end of the servo case then you'd have a choice of mounting the wires.
                        All the best

Yup I use them in my 700X. Harry Driscoll (heliharry) uses the Spektrum ones in his Agile 7.2 too I believe..

That would make life even simpler ! And I havnt looked at the Spektrum ones yet but I believe there clip is slight better so Im told. Midland were doing a deal on 3 cyclics for £102 each when I brought mine which made them a very good deal . I don't know how much the Spektrum ones are though.

So what would be the quality difference on those two. Jr servos we all know they are the dogs dangles, but what about the Spectrum ones?
The difference in price is huge so I am keen to know.
