  • tail blade pitch

Is there an optimal pitch range for the tails? I'd assume there has to be as they must also be capable of stalling/fluttering.
Does anyone measure and adjust that way or just go for max range on the slider and see if it causes problems?

I just go with the limits of the slider. I assume (probably wrongly) that the heli designers don't give the slider so much scope such that a tail blade stall is probable.

You like to think so but that's not true. The logo tail can stall the tail blades due to excessive mechnical throw. I believe this is the same with the compass 7HV

Bizarre isn't it? Why would they design them that way ??

            tail blade pitch

This also why manufacturers recommend a distance from each end to set your tail. I know the skookum gyros will ask for you to set it to near the ends without binding, which is how mine are set. This is to enable the " blur piro " however the slider will still not get near the ends.

People say the goblins 700 can have too much tail pitch as well. I guess the design it with the max someone might want in any particular setup. If you were running a really low head speed you could likely use more pitch. A high head speed not so much before it stalls.
