  • Posting lipo batteries is there any legal way

Does anyone know of any legal way to post lipo batteries since it has apparently been illegal since the start of this year.
I have no doubt that many people including large companies do not know this as I have recently received some in the post for my helicopters cars, camcorders phone etc.
I was just wondering how we are now meant to send these items.

Actually I just sat down and read the royal mail prohibited listings carefuly. For overseas postings they specify lipoly and their restrictions but for doestic post they list nicad/nihm as they do for overseas but the lipoly is absent

You can't even consider having this puffed lipo sent through the post. It needs to be disposed of.

Interestingly I have just found an article which states that business customers are still allowed to send them when they are with equipment and they are allowed to do so with two spares using regular 1st or second class post. Seems a bit odd. there are some labeling restrictions Changes to Royal Mail terms and conditions | Royal Mail Ltd

That's if they are part of the equipment. It does sound as though they can send them to us, but we can't return them.

Have had more than a few packs sent to me from Ebay and shops this year and no-one has said anything about prohibited listings on posting, don't think many people know about this or they just haven't said when using the Post Office. All that will happen is we will get spanked wit-less for P&P.
I know the USA are very hot on this sort of thing cos I tried to buy an X2 segway with a massive twin lipo packs...

Well I must admit I am guilt of posting a few not knowing that I wasnt allowed however if there is a viable option for me to do it legally I will do. Otherwise I have a couple of hundred lipo packs I am soon going to be selling off really cheap very shortly. So if anyone is interested

Think I will just try and get rid at local clubs etc. I know plenty of other people who are just using royal mail anyway but something in the back of my head just wont let me do it.

I was posting a few parcels this week through Royal Mail and the post office asked every time about the contents of the parcel. I've got a few Lipos to sell but it's a pain now to post them.
