  • Probably something simple....

....but I have just received my new heli and DX6 from 2 very helpful members on here (tomatwalden + 450man) and I have bound the 2 together, however when i have throttle hold on, and try to move the swash straight up and down with the left throttle stick, this seems to be tilting rather than straight up/down movement as I understand it should. Is there something I have done wrong in the settings on the DX6?

    Thanks all

Sounds like the servo's are plugged into the wrong ports, what Heli, and Rx/ FBL system are you running?

Im running a blade 450 3d thats been converted to 3GX FBL. Receiver is standard AR6115e RX. I just took it out of the box that Tom sent me, plugged into the bind port, plugged the 3gx into throttle servo port and that was all. All TX settings are as Tom or the manual advised.

        It'll be something simple.

Best check with Tom first though as it could be any number of things.

We could have oyu plugging and unplugging and doing full setups, tom might be able to just say "oh yeah I unplugged all the servos, I might of got ail and elev mixed up" or something.

Well after bending Tom's ear for half an hour and watching some videos on YouTube we managed to get to the bottom of it. Seem's I had to follow Freddy Can Fly and do exactly what he did, reversing the one servo that was wrong, and then correcting the cyclic afterwards. I am learning a lot and it is only my first day of owning a 'proper' helicopter.

              Thanks all.

I still don't understand why the servo reverse settings would be different on the DX6i compared to my DX8, but it's working now, so that's good! Considering the faff involved with binding the RX (thankfully a one-time only event!), you've done amazing well for a first day! Honestly, I thought you'd be on the phone at the bind stage!
