Local recycling centers will have loads of TV's you could take to bits.

You are right with the 2 sheets but they do not have to be 90 degrees, if you hold 2 together (only works on bigger sheets) and twist slightly you get darker or lighter depending on which way round they are.

Best way to find out the best angle is to go outside when a sunny get a bucket of water (black bucket) put a bright colour object in it and look at it through the filters.
Twist the filters until all reflection from the water goes away.

thank you for pointing out that a slightly twist can be good enough

This was the most easiest part from backlighting the transmitter, no joke

like told 'polarize sheet' bought @ 3dlens.com

looks like this -- bought 2 sheets, so here you see my spare sheet (someone did write '58' on this sheet but it wasnt me but its at the protecting shield so no problem just gives you a small hardaatack when opening up the package

                              DSC_0054.jpg

link from this sheet: Buy 8 inch LCD Polarizer

on the pictures in this post you can see that its very easy to remove the damaged polarize sheet

Iv cleaned the glass after removing the sheet with simple glasscleaner for all windows

                              NOW:

for this transmitter (9ZAP) iv cut a sheet in 53mm x 123 mm (the sheet you see on the picture, you can simply cut with a knive)

then you remove 1 cover (the sheet does have covers plastics on both sides and only glue at 1 side)

if you have found the side with glue this is what has to go on the cleaned glass

START LAYING DOWN A CORNER AND WITH HELP OF SOME COTTON CLOTH AND YOUR FINGER SPREAD IT OUT TO THE OPPOSITE SITE OF THE GLASS

                              VERY EASY

                              EXACTLY LIKE THIS:
                              Laptop Inverter Replacement

NOTE: before you glue the sheet you can turn the sheet 180 degrees for watching black or white pixels

if you are at this stage and you try this you will know what i mean

I did choose for white pixels as you can see on the picture

I HAVE NO CLUE WHY PEOPLE SAY ITS IMPOSSIBLE OR WHATEVER ITS SO EASY NO JOKE guess the reason is they all just want to sell you a new one

                              -cheers-- HAPY Day S
