  • DX7s Fails. Spektrum fails again..

Well, after a bus ride and a lift. Mayoor from Monarch models, a few others and myself got a lift up to the field. I did a range test and all was good. I got the 450 ready for a flight. Once he had landed his 600n I went over to put my 450 down. I just put the throttle up a few percent.

Then my DX7s decides to turn off and turn on and off again. I got the 450 back and unplugged.
We managed to re create the problem and we rang HH. Got told to open the back up and check nothing is loose. We checked the battery it was fine.

He said his HH rep will be in tomorrow and i could return it via him even though i did not buy it from him for instore credit.

    I'm going to go futaba.
I need 7 channels min as i may get a nitro in the future.
    Thinking of a 7c or a 8FG.

Wouldn't taking the back off invalidate you warranty? Sounds like you had a luck escape.
    Cheers,

Nope apparently acording to the guy on the phone from HH its covered in the back of the manual. I've not bothered to take the back off, there is not reason why a rather new (got it late December) would get a loose wire/plug. Surely HH put a dab of hot glue to stop plugs from coming out?
10 more seconds and it would have been a disaster.

I think i'll go for a 8fg. Blade and spektrum really have no QC.

Check the prices at Inwood Models, they are usually hard to beat on Futaba radios ...

Sounds like you were very lucky and my dads mate had the same problem and they told him to take the back off and he dont it over the phone and everything was okay, so then they said they would repair it for nothing if the warranty was valid but the practically set him up saying to take the back off of him transmitter.

Not at all its common practice to remove the back of the tx. There are adjustments for gimbals and a fuse in there!

brand new dx7s and a brand new raptor 50. I had the rappy off the ground 6 foot just hovering and then bang. the heli went into minus 2 neg pitch and slammed to the ground. I lost signal from the tx and lucky enough the heli wasn't damaged. I got rid of the tx because I had it in my head it was gonna happen again.
