  • Squirrel AS350 or AS355 (a.k.a Twinstar)

I am on the lookout for a Squirrel Fuselage for a Raptor 30 sized helicopter.
My tail rotor is on the right hand side and most kits I have seen have the rotor on the left.

Does anybody know of a supplier for kits with the tail rotor on the right hand side?

I have seen some Graupner fuselages but need to find a supplier to talk to.

I will ring him on your recommendation.

My search is not limited to Graupner products.

Are there many Scale builders lurking about here?

          Hi Scaleheliboy

Is it not possible to turn the tail gearbox over and rotate the blades in their holders?

Not sure about this but maybe worth considering

The raptor 30 will fit in the century and funkey bodies. I have seen a plan for the hughes 500 body which was designed for the shuttle and they tell you to rotate the tail gearbox from right to left. I don't think that it would change anything except that the pitch slider would be on top.

You can in most cases turn tail boxes over - the problem will be getting the control bell crank to operate in the same way - What I mean is they tend to be handed in that they meter out more throw in one direction than the other because you need more one way than the other " eg off setting torque."
Not easy to make this point in a few lines but if you think about it you'll get what I mean.
Of course the other thing is the Pushrod and Bellcrank will be on the top.
