  • Found New Inspiration From a New Club!

    Hi,

Thought id post this after reading a few posts on other people that have sold up and then got back into this hobby. Basically i got into this hobby about 6 years ago after always wanting to try rc helicopters but my parents couldn't afford to kit me out with one, so i just stuck with cars, boats, trucks, planes (the boring stuff). Any how i got hooked and bought all the little electric models at the time (mini preds, zooms, piccolo, ms hornet) trashed the lot of them. After this i decided to get a 50 size Sceadu CCPM. Learnt to sports fly then got a tree 600n and started mild 3D. Anyway after a few years i was starting lose interest as i wasn't progressing, kept breaking models and spending far too much money. So i sold up everything Lots of helis and all my gear for practically peanuts.

After approximately two years out of the hobby, i picked up Phoenix sim again at the beginning of the year and was amazed at what i seemed to be able to do without thinking. So I've been on there every day since for just 10 minutes and something has clicked.

So recently i have kitted myself back out with a Trex 550V2 Flybarred and promised myself im going to learn to fly it hard (Although already planning for a Rave ENV---OOOPS)

My Next quest was to find somewhere to fly, i used to fly with a friend in his dads field and pick it up as we went along, probably another reason why we both lost interest and wasn't progressing. Any how after a recent visit a well known model shop in leicestershire, somebody mentioned about a group of guys that fly model helicopters near where i live in wigston, So i looked them up Leicester Heli Flyers RC Heli Group I sent the chap there an email on the website and he invited me down.

WOW........ What an inspirational group of guys!!!

They looked over my 550 for me, i mean i know what im doing but its been a while.
There was another new member there too who had never flown before and he was having his heli setup virtually from scratch in the freezing cold. So a big thank you to everyone at LeicesterHeliFlyers.co.uk. You made me feel really welcome and with such outstanding hard low down 3d from mat and his 550, Its just made me really wanna nail this hobby and progress.

So anybody in the leicestershire area or even further a field, I really can't recommend this club enough.

    So Helpful
    Relaxed atmosphere
Virtually No Rules (Bmfa RCHA Insurance, Don't fly in the pits) Thats it!!!!
Two sponsored pilots that are awesome and help anybody from setup to buddying!

Thank you guys for getting me back on track and enjoying this hobby again!

My club is just like yours. If I'd not be a member of it, I'd probably not bother, at least not with big machines.

Flying in a club is so much better then on your own and a dedicated Heli club is even better.
