I learnt to auto with a Kalt Cyclone. My one had the plastic rotor head which was one of the later ones. Very stable model, and would be great to learn on, but may prove difficult to repair.

If its ready to go and doesn't need anything doing to it, i'd fly it. Otherwise ebay is the way forward. I know a few people who enjoy keeping and flying obsolete models. A complete example might be quite sort after.

I did most of my early learning on a Kalt Cyclone, my second heli after an MFA Sport 500 Fixed Pitch! From memory, every time I crashed it totally trashed the canopy and the servo tray at the front, it used a plain tail drive belt so you had to put a fair bit of tension on it and with the carbon fibre boom the tension caused it to crumple.

Kalt have been out of business for years now so parts are as rare as hens teeth, as Rob says so I'd say it's virtually worthless now unless people have started collecting them... Oddly enough I've seen Morley heli's (particularly scale) and parts fetch silly money on Ebay so you never know.

Ah nostalgia. I used to fly for Kalt (which probably contributed to their downfall)
The Cyclone 1 was not a great model even in its day. The smooth tail belt, as already mentioned, was particularly crap.
The Cyclone 2 was more successful. It had a toothed belt and a chunky plastic rotorhead, but suffererd badly from slop in the non-ballraced levers.

The complete lack of any spares means that they're only really of interest to an antique flyer. If it's in really good order it might be worth something in a few years time. There is growing interest in vintage helis.
