  • ar7200bx question

I have the above fitted to my 450 just wondering if I need to fix a satellite to it also like I would with a normal rx, I am still only doing hovers and small circuits so distance from me isn't a prob, but someone recently told me to get one as its down more to interference that the heli can take on a mind of its own without the sat,.....

I run just an additional sat on my 600 pal, so I don't think you need one on a 450

Yeah I got one on my 500 and that's how I understand it 500 and above, but this fella was adamant at7200bx needed one to as he,s seen one take on a mind of its own and shoot off into the distance.....

Then the system on that heli proberbly wasent placed right, all you got to remember is to never have the ariels touching or behind carbon and you'll be okay

Ok thanks guys, I have mine mounted against the side of the frame (gyro pad and cable tie) the short Ariel pointing down and the long one strapped to my boom support horizontally, so should all be ok with that.

It might not be totally necessary depending on where and how you have positioned the antennas but, personally, for the sake of £15 I don't see a reason not to.

Mount the sat on the opposite side and with the antenna at 90 degrees to the AR7200BX antenna.

I run 2 sats on my HC3-SX when a lot of people say I only need one but again, it is only an extra £15 so it makes sense just to stick one on IMO.

Steve, here's a couple of page from the manual.
See "important " note in first pic and antenna layout in second pic. :-)

I run a satellite on my 450, mounted on the bottom plate with the active antenna (left hand when viewed from above), mounted opposite to the AR7200 antenna.. Minimises the risk of shadowing by the frame and for the sake of £15 is well worth it IMHO...

run a 600 and 500 with AR7200BX but only run the 600 with sat the 500 just main unit had no problems with range, its your choice but I wouldn't bother on a 450 if you get far enough that you loose signal with just the main unit on a 450 its probably already all over or you fly with binoculars.
