Nano-Tech Batteries......Worth the extra Wonga?

I'm looking to get a couple of 2200 25c Batteries for my blade 450 3D (when it arrives ) i have looked at the normal 2200 batts which look ok and have stumbled across some 'Nano-Tech' ones...they are a few more bucks.....are they better? a penny for your thoughts please

From what I've found no there not, unless the new spec Nano are but Nano are no better infact my puffed after 10 flights and power is down.

stick with standard turnigys there more than good enough my lad only uses these on his 450x

Hi I did not have much luck with nano,s they just did not last good at first, but didnt last as long as they should went puffy then would not give the power. I had 3s 2200 and 63 5000 . The old blue bricks lasted 3 times as long.

I used nanotechs for more than a year, had more than 10 of them. Lifetime is about half of the plain blue Turnigys. After 30-50 cycles they recognisably lose power. 100 cycles and they are finished. Never again.

Oh yes, all of them were 45-90C
Now I'm using 40C blue Turnigys. Of course they are not 40C but they have enough punch for hard 3d.

Nano's no good whatsoever.

I carefully broke in my 3300 40C 6S Nanotech.
Maximum 50% discharge for first 10 cycles and charge at 1C.
Puffed to hell at the 17th charge. Scrap.
My mate has got through 8 2200 3S and none lasted more than 20 cycles.
I have seen loads that have failed very early.
Not seen any that have lasted as much as 50 cycles.
Stick with the Blue Turnigy, had no problems with those.
Have a 6S 40C 3000 Blue Turnigy with 120 cycles and still totally flat, no puffing and performing as well as when new.
No more Nano's for me, failures in my opinion.

Another vote for plain blue Turnigy batteries here too. The 40C-50C units are good solid batteries and I use them in all my applications from EDF through to 90-size electric helis.

These are a pair of 5000 6s that were used as a 12s pack on my old rave. They are no more than 40 flights old and are less than useless !! I for one won't buy them again waste of money ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363809006.041737.jpg

I have a couple for my 300x and the stock Eflite LiPo seems better Go with the Turnigy blues mate.

Yes massive gimmick in my eyes, and from all responses about we all feel same about nanotech's

i have 6s 3000 light blue Turnigy running in 600pro and so far very happy and plenty of power and there only 20c so nice and cheap for a pair so happy days

Got a Tunigy 20c Blue bricks and a Nanotech 30c.. The Nanotech one puffs slightly and comes down really warm unlike the 20c brick!

Everyone I've ever spoken to who have used a Nano-Tech Vs Standard blue have all said the same... Buy the standard Blue ones - if you want spend a bit more for a "better" battery, just buy a standard blue battery with the highest C rating your willing to pay for.

Those who have tried the Nano-Techs say poor cycle life, Puffy/dead cells & no noticeable difference in flight performance.
