HobbyWing ESC ??

So I'm using a HobbyWing Platinum Pro 70A-HV on my Compass 6HV. I havn't tried it yet as I am still rebuilding the 6HV. But just want to know what this ESC is like and how far can you 'push' it ?

I will be using two 6S 3000's to power it. I've always thought that 70A isn't really enough for a 600 size model, as my 500 uses 70A also.

I think you might be confusing Amps with Power, the two are not the same.

In a 12S setup, you have double the voltage of a 6S, and double the power for the same number of Amps.

Im running a castle ice2 80HV in my 600e, and im nowhere near the limit of 80Amps, even peak.

Sam it will be fine have one in my fusion and only just gets warm. Geek has my program box if you want an easy setup.

Yep nothing wrong with that setup, slow start not great apart from that there fit for purpose and cheap

My soft start is great just need different firmware

The hobbywing is the standard issue ESC of compass kits. Its more than up to the job, even on an 11t pinion which is insane performance wise.


Timings 15-22degs. 18 seems to be the most common and best power to heat generation. 12PMW (8 is rough with the compass standard motor! if yours using it that is?)

13 degs of collective and its a rocket ship!

I'm using this ESC on a converted Hirobo SDX with an Align 600mx motor, 2X 25C 2600mah Gens Ace packs, 600mm blades. It will easily give me 2300 headspeed if I want and the governor seems to work quite well.

I am using 8khz frequency and I think the timing is 15 (i'd have to double check to be sure I think it was the default setting). Mine has a very nice soft start as I was told the firmware had been updated.
