  • Neat heli storage idea

Neat little idea for storing your helis and looks like you could use them to clam down your heli to safely test run.
Might be an idea to fix your helis to a base board to transport them in your car/van. I know I'd be interested as securing helis in my estate car is a PITA.

It's certainly very tidy but it means installing sets of them spaced exactly for a particular heli, so once you mount them you cannot move the helis around if you decide you'd rather have one in a different place etc.

Midland have had something similar for a long time now: S-119 | U/C Support - Building Tray

I've been using them on a baseboard for heli transport in the car. The two positions on each allows some flexibility as well.

Very good point. I suppose it depends on how often you would want to move storage locations. Personally, I was thinking more along the lines of this as a transport solution .

K&S make some very similar only they clip in yet are secured by o rings. Sheryl i mount mine on my flight box. I use 2 of these to clip on one skid and the heli just sits crooked on its other skid (if that makes sense). This gets round the idea of various sizes helicopter foot prints. Both 90 and 50 skids clip in easily also. Even my Synergy N9 skids (which are much thicker) clip in there just fine. It frees up a hand so i can carry my tranny/battery case when pulling my field box to the pits. Basically i pull my box and the heli sits on top of that I just drilled through my plastic field box and secured them with nuts on the back.

Just a thought. I was looking at neodynium magnets on ebay.. some of those have several kilos of pull. All you'd need would be a strip of steel and then steel hoops with a magnet on each to drop over any skid?

Great little idea but why only 2 clamp bases for $11 surely they could do a 4 pack kit as well for a little extra and not just double.
Probably get away with 2 on a 450 but not so sure on the bigger birds

I use 4 Talon 15mm pipe clips and some 15mm JG or Hep plastic plumbing pipe for each of my helis, cheap fix. 2 front, 2 back either side of skids & 2 lengths of the pipe snapped over the skips to hold firm, remove the snap clip that clamps the pipe on the clip, good cheap system and works excellent. These are the clips Talon Pipe Clips 15mm PK50 - Conduit - Pipe & Waste -Tools, Electrical & Plumbing - Wickes, who needs complicated fussy clips????
