I can't argue about a particular companies success or lack of success with an ad campaign on RR. However I find that having to walk on eggshells and stroke someones fragile ego shouldn't be part of the payment being made to advertise on RR. He shows favortism toward some advertisers and extreme maliciousness toward others. I have seen him shield some advertisers from bad postings while allowing vicous bashing of others in the interest of "free speech". If you are going to run a forum you should run it with an unbiased attitude. Like I said I have no doubt advertisers may see good return on their ad dollars but that doesn't change the fact the guy is a nut and runs the forum in a very egotistical and generally unprofessional manner. Unfortunatelly he has a successful site which does pull a lot of viewers so I guess if you want to reach people you have to feed into his god complex as well as his bank account.

    • Hi,

I'm amazed at peoples level of involvement here. The best thing we can possibly do is not visit the site, not talk about it (as discussing it only garners interest from those who don't use the site in question) and eventually it's popularity may dwindle.

The easiest way to move on is to act like it simply doesn't exist, Stuart has provided us with a fantastic site to use so why dwell on one that doesn't even come close, just don't use it.

As this site and others such as HF/Trex Tuning grow then people will realise of their own accord where to access unbiased / uncensored information. If Mark Ryder or anyone else for that matter chooses to set up a site then they have the right to run it in a manner of their choosing. If you don't like it then leave, it's that simple. There's little point expending any energy on it, it's a website for goodness sakes. I appreciate that people have done a lot of good only to see their work disappear, and that's unfortunate but vote with your feet (or browser...) and the popularity of the site will fall. If people do vote with their feet/browsers then the advertisers will see that their ROI is falling and do the same - there's no need to plot for a coup d'etat to topple 'the man'.

And thats all I have to say on the matter

          • I wish that worked but many newbies fall onto RR without realising what they are feeding, which does give rise to the argument that warnings about the site are warranted. However, I agree with your view in principle, I don't visit that site and I actively refuse to click on links that I get sent saying 'hey look at this', I just don't want to be in any way responsible for feeding it's existence. Funnily enough he does exactly the same to others by his forum automatically screwing up links to other sites so they don't work.

            • I personally don't touch RR or helifreak.

These forums are amazing along with RCGroups, only problem with RCGroups is they don't like the Phoenix sim much... Other than that it's perfect just like her.

What's with the over sized ads and layout on some sites *cough*...

              • I think enough has been said on this subject, so in the interests of Stuarts peace of mind I'll be closing it.
