  • Can i use my trex packs for plank use.

Ive ordered up a 2/4cell lipo capable esc for my glider and was wondering if it was ok to use the packs for the thermal glider . Its got a 600 brushed motor up front and the esc has a brake on it at 4.2 volts and is usable with lipo and nicad battarys and it is also usable for brushed and brushless . Rated at continuous 35 amp draw . I dont know much about electrics etc and was hoping not to fry anything

A 6 cell pack is 6 x 3.7 volts which gives you 22.2 volts so You'll fry anything that can't handle that and I doubt your ESC will be able to either.

Its the 3s 1p lipo pack for the 450 and that would be 11 volts , presumably that would be ok with a 35 amp esc running a 3s 1p thats rated at 2s/4s lipo . As i said i dont know much about electrics

are you sure it's a 600 size motor? if so what batts do you use now? 600 size motors will use more amps than the esc/lipo your planning to run can supply typically.

        cheers

I did wonder that raptorheli2 . So if i got a new brushless motor then it would work ok as long as the esc and motor were compatable etc . The reason i say this is that the brushless motors have more power output for there size so i could prob get off with a small 400 size out runner or some thing.

there is no way the gear you have will supply a 600 size motor and without seeing the model i can't comment on what motor to get. i'm fairly sure if it comes with a 600 size motor then a 400 wouldn't work.

i think what your doing is about to puff a lipo up in fairly short order and or damage the esc.

              cheers
