kyosho caliber 3 and caliber 30!????

have just been offered these from a friend of mine! my question is are they suitable for a novice and whats the parts availability?? i think its the caliber 3!! which has fixed length flybar and fixed length rods! obviously for beginners! any good????

hi bigandy and welcome
cant say much about the caliber 3 as ive never had one
but if there is a caliber 30 these are lurvly machines they have a head that can be leading or trailing edge control on the main blades, depends on flying style. you can set them up either mechanical mixing or eCCPM on the servo control.
there are a nice heli and i now miss mine alot. not much in the way of upgrades available but you dont need them.
only problem is parts availability the 30 went out of production a couple of years ago but parts are still about as for the was never really that popular and not many poeple hold the spares.
i know the canopy is ugly but you can mod it to fit a raptor one
