  • notchy and clicking servo

I have a servo which when you move the servo arm it feels notchy and at the same time makes a clicking noise. It has never been involved in a crash.

Am I right in suspecting that the gear set is fubar? It's a hitech HS 56HB. If you apply power the servo operates as you would expect.

I'd say it needs a gear replacing...

I think it's a bad idea to force a servo via the arm, if you can avoid it.
Sounds like it may have lost a tooth, try moving it very slowly via your tx, with a very slight load on the servo (your finger), does it operate full range smoothly? Maybe a new 'box?

I'm not forcing the arm, just turning it with my finger and thats when you can feel the roughness and click.

Think I might just buy a new one and stip it down. Not worth stacking the 450 SE for the £15.
