  • Motor or ESC fail ?

So I just had a flight, I was doing some hard stop rainbows when suddenly the motor cut out. I managed to auto it down without any damage.

Now when I connect the battery to the ESC, the beeping noise doesn't sound and the motor doesn't spin.

Is this the ESC or the Motor ??

The heli is a TRex 500 DFC with 500mx motor and 75a ESC. The motor is brand new. And I'm running a 6S 3000mah.

Seems like it's the ESC, just tested another motor and still no power. Yet the servos are all working.

I'm guessing it's likely to be the ESC then ?

I'm using a Hercules BEC, that couldn't be a problem could it ?

Wouldn't have thought so buddy It takes power seperately to the ESC and so shouldn't be connected. If you've still got power to the servos then your BEC will be fine.

You can test the motor with a few batteries I did a post about a month back. It is worth having a cheap esc to do a proper test on a motor and you need to power the esc from some batteries that won't blow the esc if it is faulty. A meter is useful as well. There should be a short between each pair of leads. Actually a very low resistance that most meters won't see.
