  • Blade 450x vs trex 450+

    Hi

After a break with Helis I'm coming back I want something that is set up and ready to fly I used to fly and raptor 30 and raptor 50 scale. I will probably be a bit rurusty im looking at one of these Helis but which will be the best lol.

450x is flybarless never flown flybar less before

also which one is the cheapest for spares any thanks

Both copters will have their loyal fan base my preference is the Align 450 pro which I own.
The Align is very cheap to keep flying battery packs are around the £15 mark and you won't need a power station to charge them, tt gears are £8 a set for front, blades are around £15 upwards for branded stuff.
my packs usually give around 5 mins flight time with approx 20-25% left in at the end.
I can't comment on the blade heli but i'm sure someone will be along to let you know pretty soon.
Another point is my 450 is flybarred so there are no fancy electronics helping you out just collective management from my thumbs.lol
    The Fleet

SAB Goblin 500 sport. (in build)
XK K110 on its way. Arrived and superb
    Blade MCPX (just about airworthy)
Trex 450 Pro on Brain 2
Raptor 30 V2. Converted to electric with Quick UK conversion
    Mini Titan super Cobra ah1
    Alien 550 Quad.3DR Pixhawk
    Futaba 7C 8FGS 14SG
    Specktrum DX6i
Hovered by me,flown by my boys Nicholas and Edward.
    Cheers,

If you want an all inclusive package then there are two Trex 450's available.

T-REX 450 Plus Super Combo Ready To Fly KX015083

        T-REX 450 Plus DFC Super Combo RH45E02XT

        And one Eflite Blade 450

        E-Flite Blade 450 3D RTF Combo Mode 2 BLH1600M2

I don't have one or any experience of them maybe someone else can help with info on any of them?

Blade only do the flybarred 450-3D as a RTF kit, but the 450X flybarless is a bind-n-fly, so it's all built - you just need to buy a TX separately.

I've got a Blade 450x, and with the BeastX flybarless controller, it flies really well. The 3GX unit on the Aligns has been playing catchup on the BeastX, but concensus of opinion seems to be that with v3 of the firmware, it's now as good as the BeastX unit.

Flybarless is easier TBH. I've converted my flybarred 450-3D to flybarless (using a 3GX unit).

Both are great heli's and fly well. I have a 450 pro. I got tired of stripping torque tube gears when landing on the grass, so swapped out the tail for a belt drive setup. I no longer need a standing order with fastlads! lol

Another thing to remember.. most align parts come in pairs so your first crash can help pay for your next!

The Blade 450 parts mostly come in two's too!

TBH. I don't there's much between these two helis - it's kind of like asking BMW or Audi. Everyone has their favourite!

Neither did I until the first time I ordered a few parts! It's mostly the major parts that come in twos - ie. main shaft, main gears, etc.
oh.. I'd prefer an Audi.. lol
BMW everytime! Seriously though, I think the 450X has a better flybarless unit (AR7200BX), but the Align has less plastic (eg. CF frames). swings and roundabouts and all that ...
