As a lot of you will know, we have been trying to find somewhere to fly in Southampton for the past few months, well probably six months to be fair. Quite a lot has gone on behind the scene of the main forum, so most of you wont know all the ups and downs and difficulties we have had.

Now things are starting to get scary (in a good way).

Discoferret and myself spent a long time driving around muddy lanes, knocking on doors and asking around to find somewhere to fly.... and now we have that its like a snowball rolling down a hill ever gaining momentum.

Today the 'Founding Members' ironed out the details of how the club is going to run.
Discoferret has set up a website
I've started collecting monies and joining members for our trial period on the flying site.

South Hants Helis is now officially born, with the first signed up member, and the first installment of money in the bank

1st flying day is to be the 2nd Feb.... just two weeks away.....

So hopefully, its all systems go We are looking to get RCHA affiliation, provided we can iron out some details with Stuart

I just wanted to say thanks for all of those on the forum who have shown an interest, both near and far, who have given Discoferret and I encouragement, who have offered help and advice, as it has really helped. Photos will be up from the opening day of the club... watch this space....

Well done guys there seems to have been a lot of new members on here lately in the Southampton area so hopefully you wont be short of interest, best of luck and look forward to plenty of flying videos from your club.

We are keeping it under wraps for now, for quite a few reasons. Once things are a little more established (we have a short trial period), will be happy to let you all know

I might be able to find a few photos for you though

I forgot to say, a special thanks should go to Stuart, who very kindly set aside a little private area of this forum, where the Southampton crew could try and sort out what we wanted and where it could be, without it cluttering up the main forum.

Thats been really helpful in our discussions, so thanks Stuart
