    1) sounds like it might be a gearing problem, worth stripping down the servo and checking.

    2) yes roll on glass

    3) they are very cheap, so probably sensible

    4) the motor shouldnt have been injured by this, but you should check your mesh, and the teeth one by one just to check.

A quick way to check your feathering spindle without stripping the head is just to remove a blade and rotate the spindle (clockwise) with an allen key in the end bolt. If it's bent the blade grips will wobble as you turn it.

I think I'd change the two bolts on the main shaft as you will have strained them. They probably won't fail next time, but considering how much they cost and how easy they are to change it would be a good idea. Probably change them every time you break the blades. There are cheap blades available, by the way, for around £5 that are fine for basic flying. (Giant Shark and HobbyKing.) Sorry that's for 450s.

My second crash was around Feb time last year and was also in the snow!
Although the snow was quite deep and i went in on throttle hold, i still had to replace all the usual spindles and now i change my main and feathering spindles after every crash!

              Well, I've finished stripping and checking everything, including a strip check of the tail servo and it seems I will be ordering the following from Raj at Align;

2x sets of Main "blade grip" bolts
              Torque Tube
              Torque Tube Bearing
              Torque Tube Bearing Holder
Torque Tube M0.8 front gear set (the new black stronger version)
              Carbon fibre Boom
              Boom Stays
Tail rotor shaft with integral bevel gear
Tail control servo pushrod, carbon fibre
              Horizontal stabilizer fin
Horizontal stabilizer fin upper & lower mounts alloy upgrade
2x Upper & lower Jesus Bolts
2x Set of 4x screws that come with the alloy tail servo bracket (Too much threadlock, couldn't get them out with the hex driver, then the end snapped off so Mr Dremel and a slotted screwdriver came out to play

take a photo of the gears in your servo before you strip anything. too many peeps have trouble putting them back as they came out.

I take the gears off in two piles, makes it easier to replace.

Stripped, checked, lightly re-greased and re-assembled.

Total cost would appear to be £143.96 delivered, she is not a happy bunny, What was I doing flying in the snow? Why didn't you check where you were landing? How could you be so stupid? You should have known!
I'm having a great evening, even tried cooking a lovely meal and walked the dogs, almost got a thankyou.....
