JR are in an interesting position right now.Originally posted by debrooker View PostIs there not the 3rd option, JR, don't they use their own spread spectrum technology.
They do have their own tech and are no longer Spektrum compatible with their new XG series radios.
However the route they have taken doesn't currently make it easy to integrate with various FBL controllers.
I think I'm right in saying that so far only Skookum has the ability to use a new DMSS satellite, and there is currently no equivalent of the Futaba single line S.Bus approach either.
I'm sure that will change eventually, but right now it is at least something to be aware of.

If Spunky went in last weekend due to the Spektrum side of things I would not have been too happy to say the least. If this system Im using is not suitable as a full range system then I need to change. I suspect the main reason people dont normally see a problem is because they only check their logs etc when we physically see a problem. I wonder just how often it goes unnoticed.Originally posted by milly0812 View PostI agree ............it would be much better if you had a crash due to Futaba ?????

I'm just not happy to have anything but the best and most reliable in Spunky purely due to the amount of money I have invested in this project. If it goes in because of dumb thumbs then so be it but if its because of a part I put in that I know COULD have been better then I'll kick myself for a friggin long time.
And also, I do not recall ever reading a Futaba heli going in for the same reasons that many DX8 owners experienced or a loss of signal. Failures can and will happen but as long as I have done all I can to prevent this, happy days
As for the model match, if you do not check then OMG!!!! Thats a failsafe for idiots lol.
+ 7 x Eddies finest EGS's

Spektrum to Futaba
Your fault not the tx.Originally posted by Mikej View PostDoes Futaba have Model Match (or similar) yet - I had a Futaba Tx ages ago and crashed my Trex 450 due to having the wrong model selected, I know that it was my own stupid fault but Spektrum wouldn't let that happen.
Did you do your preflight checks? Thought not

No but with the latest firmware you can activate a setting which forces you to pick a model when you first turn on the transmitter.Originally posted by Mikej View PostDoes Futaba have Model Match (or similar) yet - I had a Futaba Tx ages ago and crashed my Trex 450 due to having the wrong model selected, I know that it was my own stupid fault but Spektrum wouldn't let that happen.Matt
