@kylelnsn - Thanks. I think you can see I am doing just that and taking my time. But I have a blog and some people reading it may wonder if I have forgotten to post... that why I gave the update It is huge fun building isn't it.
@pjos11 - when you say "tool kit" what exactly do you mean? I might do a video of my workshop and show what I have to give newcomers an idea of some of the stuff they might want to get... or not... depending on you and your attitude to tools and to having stuff available to use just in case. I have a lot of stuff and you could say that I don't need it all and I wouldn't argue with that... but I like to have stuff I need as well as stuff I just MIGHT need so I don't have to wait when I need it. Just my way of working but it costs more up front for sure.
I have been very practical all my life and my wife has an engineering degree and has owned tools all her life so between us we had all the basics such as soldering irons, screwdrivers and hex spanners, dremel, multi-meter, various glues and tapes, velcro etc. Other suff I bought to make up a modeling workshop such as a heatgun, modelling cutting mat, covering iron (for planks) etc. Now I have a pretty well equipped modelling workshop in my spare bedroom. Works well.

LOL! Well I did look at those boxed tool sets and it is a nice way to do it. But I already had all the tools in the kit except the pitch guage and I wanted a digital pitch guage anyway. I am thinking though of buying a case like that to carry them all in so it is easy to take to the flying field. At the moment I have to take them just all separately ina kind of big tool box. It is way OTT.
