  • Futaba FF7 radio help

    Hi all

Can some one who has a Futaba FF7 radio confirm that it automatically powers up when you plug a Buddy box or sim lead in to the trainer port, can't check in the shop as none have been available for weeks!

    Thanks in advance

Were/are there two versions of the FF7?
I had the T7CP (with jog dial) which didn't power up through the buddy lead being plugged in.
              The FF9 does though...

I can agree with Robgt. I had a FF7 (7CAP/CHP) new Jan 07 (with jog dial and no removable module) and that did not power up when the phoenix lead was connected to it.

However connecting a buddy lead from another transmitter might be different - I never did that.

The 7cap will power up if its connected to be the buddy box for training

If its the Sim only then you need to switch it on

                      Aah!
I never used it for training - only for the sim...
                      That explains that then

                        Rob,

There is the new FF7 which is the C(H/A)P designation and doesn't have a seperate module. I have an older FF7 Super that has much more basic programming, but it does have a removeable module.

The new Tx has the square trainer socket and the older one has the round din trainer socket.

The older design doesn't power up from the master buddy Tx, or from the flight sim.

                        Hope this helps?
                        regards

                        Pip

                            Hi

It's becoming clear now that some of you have none OEM adaptor leads for the Pheonix sim, there seems to be a few shops supplying these in the UK, if you have one of these leads then send it back and ask for a real Pheonix one!
Any Futaba radio that powers up when you plug a Buddy box lead in should also power up with the sim lead plugged in.

                            Cheers
                            Bob

Interesting... mine is definitely an original lead... came with the software.

The T7CP never powered up with the Reflex dongle plugged in either.

                              Cheers,
