I flew another four pack with it today, with a few flips and rolls and some full speed action and with my limited experience (fff, loops, flips and rolls) I cannot fault it.... it would be intereting to let one of you 3d folks have a go and see what you think.....hmm! or would it?...on second thoughts...perhaps not for now unless you kept it gentle.

anyway, if your on a budget, bored, or just fancy a mini project one evening and you have a spare fb head knocking around, I would say give it a go. Its way, way better than a standard fb for the cost of a used beastx.

    trex 600 nitro le (beastx)

    dx8.....

its not my dog by the way.

I only have (have only ever had one) one flybarless heli and it has a home made head. The heli is an Xcell Stratus 90 with a Futaba CGY750 flybarless unit. The head is made from the standard flybarred headblock with a Mikado 10mm swash driver and a pair of Quick UK Raptor 90 metal blade grips, which go straight onto the stock MA spindle as a direct replacement for the original grips.

It works a treat, is considerably cheaper (1/3rd the price) than the proper MA flybarless head for this heli and also offers significantly more pitch range than the stock item.

As a part of the process, I also put hard 3D dampers in the head (fbl units like hard damping, regardless of your flying style), and changed the stock plastic anti-rotation guide for the Tempest upgrade aluminium version - really keeps the swash plate fixed and aligned without wandering off in flight.
