Its still only 250W though... but looks a nice charger.

I think (for once) im just going to buy once and buy right....

I have a 1500W power supply @24V so id like to get a charger around 1000+ W so that I can parallel charge my packs in 30 minutes from a standing start... That way I will be getting close to the 'fuel and go' mentality that I have with the nitro.

8 packs, at 1C = 24V @ 3.3A x 10 = 792W

I know its going to be more money, but probably worth waiting for I think i've used up all my IOU cards

I got 5 minutes today, and still had 57% left in the packs, but the headspeed was really low, and all I did was gentle hovers about til I was sure about the set up (and had had a chance to tighten the head up a bit).

Im still waiting for castle to send me through the link, so I can set up the governor at 2100 and 2200, then im good for some flips, loops, rolls and stall turns

OMG I just weighed this beast and it's 4.32kg rtf ! I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised because when it was a nitro it was something like almost 3.8kg without fuel. So basically it is the weight of two Trex 500s and the 500 gets about 5.30 of fairly lively (but not super aggressive) flying out of this size pack. The theory then would be that if it is at least the same efficiency it should do similar flight times, if it's a bit more efficient than maybe 6.00 ish. Part of that heft is the largish 3000mah LiFe RX pack, so I suppose some weight could be saved with a smaller one or using a BEC instead.

I'll have to get someone at the club to tach the headspeed as the Hobbywing ESC just does an arbitrary thing in gov mode and holds at a percentage of throttle. With the Castles you can get a pretty accurate look at the headspeed in the logs so long as you tell it the right gearing and everything.

I havent weighed the 600e yet, but I did go for a BEC to try and keep the weight down, rather than a Life pack, or a Lipo and regulator. I figured having a regulator was just an extra point of weakness, without having the benefit of less weight.

I managed to pick up a Castle bec pro v3, for the 600e, and a Western robotics Sbec, both for very good money, of course from members on here (cupracing and heathy). The western robotics is going into the knight E once I get a motor... but thats going on hold until I have the money for a charger, and then some more packs, so probably March.
