Wait and see if it turns up in the UK warehouse, or just stays in HK.

damn, this is an ugly piece of kit - but I must admit I like the fact you can set the output strength to US or EU from the radio ... but you probably get what you've paid for ...Sev

The DX6i is not dual power.
I can't see that OrangeTx being permitted if it can run at US power settings. Nothing stopping people buying it from the international HK warehouse though I suppose.
Ugly bugger! I wouldn't be seen dead with that at my club!Paul

You should find it in the 'Setup List' under 'Power Setting'Originally posted by PaulChurchley View PostI haven't used my DX6i for about 4 months, since I got the DX8... I'll take a look to check.
"The power setting screen is used to place the transmitter in one of two power settings. A-EU 328 is appropriate
for most European countries conforming to EU 300-328, while B-US 247 should be selected for use in the United
States and countries outsde the EU."

I have a DX6i that is just a few months old, and I can confirm these options are still present.Originally posted by Mark_T View PostYou should find it in the 'Setup List' under 'Power Setting'

Ok it turned up today...
The gimbles are better than a 6i and the RF block is different to a DX4 (the spetrum ones all have the same licence number BRWDAMTX11 (X1TX0)) however they seem to have teh same chipset (Cypress) and identical layout. Next to check it the data going in as a comparison.
The palstic is silightly flexible not brittle and teh construction is pretty good. The trainer socket is a mini din not a jack. I will turn it on when i have finished disemboweling it (need to go to ikea for battries) it sipports a JST conenctor for a recharable battery
By way of comparison the most improtant piece is the RF block and here is the orange one
orange_TX.jpg
And the DX4 spektrum one
dx4_DSMX.jpg
If anybody has an old DSM2 spektrum unit thats scrap take it apart and look inside the RF block i bet its the same as the orange one. There is no licence number printed on this device at all.

Update:
Just for the hell of it i plugged the RF block from a DX4e (DSMX) into the orange raido.... it works on all six channels to the orange dsm2 sat I am assuming that it will try and bind in DSMX if a compatible rx was available. so its data is compatible with spektrum (always thaught it probably was) . From that i expect the only non compliant issue with UK regs is that you can get at the power switch from the normal screens its not on a hidden menu as it is with others.
