  • Silicone in Aldi

I use silicone a lot for sealing the join at muffler to engine so I couldn't resist buying a tube for my heli toolbox when I saw it in Aldi. It is hi temp so should do nicely.

Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.

Nice one, please let us know how well it works. A lot of people on here, including myself just use epoxy.

TBH I have always used the regular stuff that you might get from say Halfords or Poundland but I have to say it always worked perfectly. I got this one cos of the heat it can withstand which seems a bit unusual.

By brother got me tube of high temp liquid gasket silicone from work. I use it on all my silencers and back plates and never get a leak. Not cheap mind apparently it's £80 a tube :-O just a scrape then.

And there was me thinking £1.99 was a heck of a cost.

+300C sounds like it might work ok, I will look out for some, I always glue mine on with 20 minute epoxy, never had a problem yet and forms a perfect seal

The stuff I got is rated to 1300 degrees. They use it on engine and gearbox rebuilds on forklifts.
